Highlands Ranch
Home Care in Highlands Ranch, CO
We match families in Highlands Ranch with caregivers who live and work nearby.
Highlands Ranch is a community in Douglas County. It is not its own city. Care happens in the person's house or apartment.
Douglas County, not a separate city
Highlands Ranch is an unincorporated community in Douglas County. Parker and Castle Rock are in the same county. If you are not sure we cover your address, call and tell us the street. We will tell you if we can come.
Our Aurora office is for administration only. The caregiver who visits lives and works near the client.
What a visit can include
- Meals cooked at home, plus light housekeeping and laundry.
- Companionship during the visit, so the person is not alone.
- Bathing, grooming, and dressing. These daily tasks are sometimes called ADLs.
- A look around the home for simple safety problems, such as a cord across a walkway or poor light in a bathroom. The caregiver tells the family what they see.
Ways to pay
Health First Colorado (Colorado Medicaid) may cover home care if you qualify. Your case manager decides which services are approved. We also work with families who pay privately or use long-term care insurance. Not sure which one is right for you? Call us, and we will walk you through your options.
A relative who cares for you may be able to get paid as your caregiver through AVA. Ask us how.
How care works
1. We meet with you at home.
Our care coordinator visits you and your family. We talk about your daily routine, what is hard now, and how you like things done.
2. We write your plan of care.
If you have Medicaid, your case manager decides which services you are approved for, and we follow that plan. If you pay privately or use long-term care insurance, we build the plan with you. Together with you and your family, we decide the order and the way each task is done.
3. Personal care and help at home, together.
We usually combine personal care, like bathing and dressing, with help around the house, like meals and laundry. This makes your day easier and helps you stay independent at home.
4. We train your caregiver.
Your care coordinator shows your caregiver how to follow your plan, step by step and in the right order.
5. Your plan stays the same until you want a change.
Your caregiver follows the same plan at every visit. If your needs change, just call us and we will update your plan together.
